![]() This was an accident, but 8d6 would give very similar numbers to 5d6×1.5, so it's not super weird that they were the same. ( The damage numbers for Empowered shocking grasp and intensified were identical in my examples. Check with your GM if you want to try to stack them. People will say that you can use both, but there is language about how traits don't stack, so this is questionable at best. It's possible to reduce the spell-level by 1 using either the Magical Lineage or Wayang Spellhunter trait. This uses a 4th level spell-slot ( just a note, an 8th level Magus doesn't have 4th level spell-slots). So that's 4 3 6 4 1, then intensify adds another 3d6 for 2 5 2, so all together we have 4 3 6 4 1 2 5 2 = a total of 27 damage, then Empower changes that to 27 × 1.5 = 40.5 damage, which rounds down to 40 damage ( always round down). If you combined them and used both Empowered and Intensified then you'd get 8d6 damage and the total would be multiplied by 1.5. That's 4 3 6 4 1, then Intensify adds another 3d6 for 2 5 2, so all together we have 4 3 6 4 1 2 5 2 = a total of 27 damage. If instead you used Intensify spell it would changs from 5d6 to 8d6. That's 4 3 6 4 1 = 18 damage, then Empower changes that to 18 × 1.5 = 27 damage. If you Empowered that spell you would multiply the total, so 5d6×1.5. Let's say you roll 4 3 6 4 1 = 18 damage. Shocking Grasp at level 8 would deal 5d6 damage ( because it caps at 5d6). Others have given you the answer, but I figure I'll give it in a slightly clearer manner.Įmpower doesn't add more dice, it multiplies the total number rolled. /r/3d6 - For character creation, advice and sharing (system agnostic)./r/Battlemaps - For your VTT battlemap requirements./r/Tabletop - For your general tabletop gaming shenanigans./r/lfg - Looking For Group, find other players, etc./r/RPG - For general, non-Pathfinder related RPG discussion./r/Starfinder_rpg - For dedicated discussion of Paizo's Science Fantasy system and setting./r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker - To discuss the Owlcat-made computer RPGs./r/Pathfinder2e - For dedicated Second Edition discussion./r/Pathfinder - For Pathfinder Society Organization/Discussion.Other subreddits you might be interested in: Fillable character sheets and intelligent character builders. Some of these tools and resources include the following: We have a Wiki page that includes links for various useful tools and resources, most of which have been provided by the members of this community. ![]() ![]() Archives of Nethys - Official PF Resource.Official Paizo AMAs on /r/Pathfinder_RPG.Here's what the flairs mean.įor Spoilers: >!This is a spoiler.
